Summary

The Backhaul Coordinator is an essential part of the transportation team.  The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the daily backhaul operations and manage all aspects of the driver backhaul experience meeting goals of Safety, Service, Productivity, and Cost.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Soliciting and acquiring daily, weekly, and monthly freight from customers or brokers.
• Negotiate rates, update rate confirmations with applicable accessorial charges.
• Scheduling, load planning and driver assignments.
• Coordinating with the Transportation Manager to insure all loads are matched and acknowledged to maximize efficiency.
• Reduce and manage deadhead.
• Continue to review and improve backhaul revenue and lanes.
• Customer Service: serve as principle contact in matters of daily service, tracking and tracing all deliveries and loads.
• Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and company policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support as required.
• Trailer management reporting.
• Maintain maintenance work orders.
• Accounts receivable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• (2) years minimum experience in transportation industry
• Excellent phone and interpersonal skills
• Strong geographical knowledge of the United States
• Transportation brokerage experience a plus

Summary

The Purchasing Administrator is responsible for overseeing and directing the purchasing fulfillment activities for all warehouse, production, and facilities management operations.  This role is the “go to” person relative to all purchasing issues. This is a position for someone that likes a challenge, does multitasking and has an ability to communicate in an outgoing and professional manner.  It is a fast paced environment requiring frequent reprioritization of tasks and activities to support the customer and operations.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple special project activities to short deadlines
• In charge of creating, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders from requisitions to invoicing
• Work with vendors to assure on time delivery, resolve problems, create advantageous purchases
• Manage supply base of key and strategic suppliers: quality, cost, risk and service
• Oversee qualification new supplier candidates
• Reduce cost through negotiation of pricing, supplier qualification or other alternatives
• Proven ability to negotiate effective solutions
• Responsible for the positive and prompt response to the needs of the tenants. Continues ongoing communications with the Facilities Manager to ensure needs are being met
• Supports facilities management efforts in day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures and programs that will ensure well-managed, well-maintained buildings, fire and safety programs

Qualifications

• (2-5) years progressively responsible experience in purchasing
• Understanding of purchasing procedures and processes
• Detail oriented with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• Strong analytical and math skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with cross functional departments.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• AS 400 experience a plus
